Kenpo / Kempo
This style is perhaps one of the most efficient and effective – always looking for the simplest way to destroy an opponent’s attack. As a student you’ll learn both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ styles to combine strong and quick reactions with smooth, flowing movements. These include rapid multiple striking to vulnerable points of the body, including among the arsenal of natural weapons; punching, kicking, open hand \'tagatana\' (or reverse knife-hand) strikes, elbows and knees.
Kempo is not a single martial art but a term used to describe various systems which have various origins, such as Shorinji Kempo or Nippon Kempo.
American Kenpo is often referred to as Kenpo Karate, and Kenpo is also attributed to Hawaiian systems. The most popular schools of Kenpo are Shorinji Kenpo and American Kenpo Karate.
